The patented aQtubes™ are temporarily installed inflatable sound absorbers. Importantly, they (also) absorb low frequencies, reducing the well-known rumbling sound encountered at most amplified indoor concerts in concert halls as well as arenas and stadiums. This rumble is the most frequent reason for poor-sounding concerts. In this sense, the product is a game-changer in the live music industry.
When installed permanently in arenas, aQtubes™ can be adjusted to provide optimal sound for sports (off) and concerts (on).
aQtube has been in use many times at large events, and in some of the cases, we got the chance to make measurements before and after aQtubes were mounted:
Case Study 1: Eurovision Song Contest 2014
Case Study 2: Kraftwerk at Neue National Galerie
Case Study 3: One Direction at Amsterdam Arena
The aQtube has an absorption coefficient of approx. 0,5 (63-1k Hz) in the densest configuration when mounted directly on the ceiling. This alpha works in the entire ceiling area. When inactive, it is close to zero.
Weight: Approx. 1.2 kg per running meter.
Size: Approx. 1.5 m diameter when inflated.
Thin reusable plastic.
Available in black or white.
